The first Washable Silk was successfully developed in the 1890s by using Rayon which is a form of cellulose-based fiber extracted from wood pulps. The characteristics of Washable Silk is highly similar to Pure Silk except it is easier to wash, iron and preserve.

Washable Silk is softer, less lustrous, good absorbent and cooling to comfort. Therefore, the fabric is highly utilized for the production of ladies’ blouses, shirts and summer dresses.

Typically, the fabric is imported from overseas and the patterns are designed by JAKEL’s in-house designers.
